4K Android Camera Stream Emulator

I need an Android-side solution that pretends to be a hardware camera and feeds any app with a configurable video stream. The goal is to simplify QA runs and product demos where real shooting conditions are hard to reproduce. Core behaviour • Present itself to the system through Camera2 (or a comparable low-level hook) so that third-party apps “see” a normal rear and front camera. • Offer two feed options: – real-time streaming generated or relayed by the app, including the ability to receive a live video stream from a PC (via USB or network); – playback of pre-recorded files I supply (.mp4, .mkv, etc.). • Output must go up to full 4 K (2160 p) without visible stutter on modern devices. Deliverables Signed APK and, if necessary, system-privileged build. Full Android Studio / Gradle source with a short README covering build, permissions and how to switch between live and file modes. Quick guide that helps me add or replace sample clips for the playback option, and explains how to stream video from a PC to the device. Acceptance criteria • Emulator is selectable as a camera inside common apps such as Zoom, Teams or any generic camera test tool, with both rear and front cameras available. • 4 K files play for at least ten minutes without frame drops on a Snapdragon 8-class device. • Smooth mode switching, no app restart required. If you have already worked with virtual cameras, Camera HALs or custom media codecs on Android, please tell me which approach you prefer so we can lock the scope quickly.
