I recently discovered that every time I move images out of my Android “Private” album, the date-and-time stamp disappears. I still have a backup set where the metadata is perfectly intact, and there are fewer than 50 photos that need fixing. Here’s what I need: • Copy the original date and time information from my backed-up files onto the current copies that have gone blank. • Make sure each corrected file displays the right shooting date in Google Photos, the default Gallery app, and any standard EXIF reader on Android. I don’t need geolocation or camera-settings data restored—only the date/time field must be accurate. You’re welcome to use whatever workflow suits you best—ExifTool, a custom script, or an Android-friendly solution—as long as the final images load on my phone with the proper timestamps. I can supply both the blank files and the originals for reference as soon as we start.
