At its core the system needs secure Email-and-Password authentication, then a straightforward dashboard where a signed-in user can: • add or edit income and expense entries, • see running balances and simple visual summaries, and • download or view reports that help them understand where their money goes. The front-end can be in React, Vue, or a similarly modern framework, provided the UX stays lightweight and intuitive on Windows Chrome/Edge. For the back-end I’m open to Node, Django, Laravel or another mainstream stack as long as you implement standard security practices—hashed passwords, CSRF protection, role-based access—and structure the data for easy future expansion (e.g., budget planning or notification modules down the road). Acceptance criteria • Works flawlessly on Windows 10/11 with current versions of Edge and Chrome. • New users can register, confirm email, log in, reset passwords. • Authenticated users can create, read, update, delete transactions and instantly see updated totals. • Reports exportable to PDF or CSV. • Code is well-commented and delivered in a Git repo with clear setup instructions and a README that gets me from clone to running local dev environment in minutes.
