Three years ago a developer wrote a custom front-door camera monitoring program for me. It still records, but the front-panel screen now powers up only intermittently and the overall reliability has slipped. I am uploading the full original source so you can work directly on the existing codebase rather than starting over. Your first task is to track down and eliminate whatever is keeping the panel from showing the live feed every time the unit boots. Once the stability issue is solved, I want to extend the feature set: • When someone knocks, uses a key, or scans a fingerprint, the system must play an audible alert through the small speaker beneath the monitor and overlay the word “Dangerous” in bright red on the live video. • Motion detection has to recognise even subtle movement and remain accurate in low-light or night-time conditions at the entrance door. • Remote access via mobile app is essential so I can view the feed and reset the system from anywhere. Deliverables I expect: - Updated, well-commented source code that compiles and runs on the existing hardware. - Verified front-panel startup consistency after multiple reboot cycles. - Fully functional alert workflow (sound + red overlay) tied to the specified triggers. - Tuned motion detection with night-time performance demonstrated. - Secure remote-access capability available through a mobile app or companion service. - Brief deployment notes so I can reinstall the software on the door unit without hassle. If you are comfortable diving into someone else’s code and upgrading embedded camera systems, I look forward to working with you.
