I need a senior-level Android engineer to create a purpose-built digital-signage application that will be side-loaded onto company-owned tablets running in kiosk mode. The screens cycle through scheduled content, report their status, and accept remote layout changes, even when the network drops. Core functionality • Content scheduling and rotation must run locally, drawing from a SQLite/Room cache so the device stays fully functional offline. • Remote management and monitoring will talk to our server through WorkManager-driven background sync; when connectivity returns, queued events and new creative are exchanged automatically. • Customizable display layouts should be rendered with smooth transitions; think configurable zones for images, video and HTML snippets rather than a hard-coded playlist. Technical expectations You are comfortable with enterprise or device-owner deployments, know how to lock down system UI, handle silent updates and keep the app out of the public Play Store. Clean, testable architecture (Kotlin preferred, MVVM, dependency-injection) and clear documentation are mandatory so my in-house team can extend the codebase later. Deliverables 1.
