I want to build a small, stand-alone demo that lets a user push a virtual anaesthesia syringe and physically feel the changing resistance as the needle travels through skin, fat, muscle and finally bone. The visual scene only needs moderate polygon detail, yet the tissue layers themselves must carry realistic PBR textures so the transition between layers is clear on screen and through touch. The haptic side is critical. We have to design our own 1 DOF haptic device for the syringe with motor and sensor setup (it isn’t a Novint Falcon or SensAble Phantom). The freelancer will handle everything from motor design, sensor integration to development. I also need all source code to translate depth in the mesh into force cues in real time. A simple calibration panel and a plain-text file where I can later tweak force curves will make life easier for both of us. Deliverables within two weeks of project start: • Full project source and build files (Unity, Unreal, or native C++/OpenGL—choose what gets you there fastest) • 3D assets representing the tissue layers with realistic textures applied • Live haptic integration tied to depth in each layer • A concise read-me covering build steps and where to edit force tables • Full details on the motor, sensor setup, materials used, and technical documentation. I’ll share reference imagery, layer thickness data. If you’re comfortable marrying moderate-detail graphics with advanced haptic feedback, let’s chat and get this prototype running.
