I need a server-side application that can accept DVB and Teletext subtitle packets pushed from my set-top-box software as soon as they are detected in the transport stream. The moment a subtitle line arrives, the server must translate it and return the translated text with minimal latency so it can be rendered on live channels in real time. Key points of the workflow • STB software extracts raw subtitle data from the TS stream and posts it to the server (JSON over HTTP is preferred, but I can adapt to another lightweight protocol if needed). • Your service receives the text, performs on-the-fly translation through a machine-translation engine or an in-house model you provide, then answers with the translated string plus timing information. • I should be able to ask for additional languages later without architectural changes. • Subtitle format negotiation (SRT, VTT, ASS, etc.) will be finalised once we review your approach, so keep the output layer modular. Deliverables 1. Source code for the translation server (Python, Node.js, Go or similar). 2. Configuration and deployment guide for Ubuntu 22.04. 3. REST (or chosen) API documentation, including sample requests from the STB and expected responses. 4. A small diagnostic dashboard or log output that lets me verify latency and translation success in real time. Acceptance criteria • End-to-end latency from subtitle arrival to translated response under 500 ms on a local network. • Accurate rendering of special DVB/Teletext characters. • Clean reconnection handling if the STB or network drops momentarily.
