Project Overview: We are seeking a high-level Mobile Developer/Computer Vision Engineer to build a specialized module for a vertigo diagnostic support application for smartphones. The core task is to capture and analyze Nystagmus using the device's internal infrared sensors. Scientific Context: Nystagmus is an involuntary, rhythmic oscillation of the eyes caused by vestibular (inner ear) dysfunction. While vertigo is the subjective sensation of spinning, nystagmus is the objective clinical evidence. Capturing this in total darkness is essential to prevent "visual fixation" which can suppress the symptoms. Key Responsibilities: 1. Mobile IR Capture: Access internal IR sensors (e.g., iPhone TrueDepth or Android IR) to record video in total darkness (0 lux). 2. On-Device Pupil Tracking: Real-time pupil detection using OpenCV, MediaPipe, or ARKit. 3. Motion Analysis: Quantify direction (horizontal, vertical, torsional) and frequency (Hz) of eye movements.
