Assessment criteria Students are assessed on the extent to which the research project/essay: • Demonstrates critical awareness and systematic, advanced knowledge processes and procedures of peaceful settlement of international disputes between states, including relevant legal and policy issues associated with the establishment and functioning of international courts and tribunals (PSID, LO.1) • Locates, explains and employs relevant legal and non-legal sources in the construction of knowledge (PSID, LO.2 and LO.3) • Evidences a critical engagement with scholarship and ideas to evaluate and critique knowledge on international dispute settlement (PSID, LO.3) • Appraises challenges and issues pertaining to settlement of international disputes, and devises and justifies solutions to challenges and issues in international dispute settlement (PSID, LO.4) • Advances a critical and reasoned argument as based on evaluation and synthesis of competing perspectives (PSID, LO.5) • Presents and articulates ideas, arguments and knowledge in a coherent, logical manner, demonstrating a command of written academic English, including appropriate citation and referencing (PSID, LO.6)
