The job is straightforward: pull the raw records, crunch the numbers in Python, and output polished summaries that management can read without digging into SQL. Here’s the flow I have in mind. Your script connects to the existing MySQL instance, extracts the relevant tables (orders, products, customers, discounts), performs the necessary aggregations—daily, weekly, monthly totals, top-selling products, regional performance—and then exports the results. I’m comfortable with CSV or Excel for now, though if you prefer Matplotlib or Seaborn for quick visual snapshots, that’s a plus. Please make the code modular so I can adjust date ranges or add new metrics later. Well-commented functions and a short README are all I need for hand-off. Once I can run python report.py and get fresh numbers every Monday morning, we’re done.
