I have a moderately detailed SketchUp model that my client now needs inside Autodesk Inventor as a native .iam assembly. What matters most is that every dimension and measurement transfers over perfectly—tolerances, hole sizes, overall footprint, the lot. Textures and materials are irrelevant for this job; dimensional fidelity is the priority. If you can achieve an accurate, loss-free conversion, great. If it proves cleaner to rebuild the geometry directly in Inventor, I’m fine with that too, as long as the finished .iam opens without errors and reflects the exact same sizes I supplied. Deliverables • An Inventor .iam assembly (with its linked .ipt parts) mirroring all original dimensions. • A quick note on the approach taken—conversion workflow or fresh redraw—so I can document it for the client.
