We’re Hiring: SolidWorks Sheet-Metal Design & Simulation Engineer Location: India (On-site / Hybrid / Project-based – specify as needed) Industry: Precision Sheet Metal | Electrical OEM Components Company: Deep Machine Tools (Since 1985) About the Role We are looking for a highly skilled SolidWorks Design Engineer to convert an in-house conceptual design into a production-ready sheet-metal component for use inside a Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB). The component is a small precision sheet-metal clamp that acts as an electrical connection within the MCB assembly. The concept and envelope dimensions are already defined—your responsibility is to translate this concept into a fully detailed, manufacturable SolidWorks model, validated through forming and simulation studies, and ready for tooling and mass production. This role requires strong expertise in SolidWorks Sheet Metal, Simulation / Plastics, and manufacturing documentation. Key Responsibilities Convert hand sketches and provided envelope dimensions into a fully parametric SolidWorks sheet-metal model Use SolidWorks Sheet Metal tools to define bends, reliefs, and flat patterns accurately Validate fit and clearances of the clamp inside the MCB cavity (assembly check) Perform SolidWorks Simulation / Forming / Plastics analysis to evaluate: Stress during forming Spring-back effects Potential warpage or deformation Tooling and forming feasibility Optimize the design for laser cutting / stamping and mass production Maintain a clean, logical, and editable SolidWorks feature tree with meaningful feature names Collaborate with tooling and production teams to ensure smooth handover to manufacturing Deliverables (Must Be Production-Ready) Parametric SolidWorks Part File Optional assembly showing clamp positioned inside the MCB Flat-pattern drawing including: Bend lines & bend directions K-factor Material specification Manufacturing tolerances Simulation report (PDF or Word) covering: Simulation setup Material properties Stress, spring-back & warpage results Recommended tooling or forming adjustments STEP / IGES exports Short technical summary highlighting critical dimensions and tolerances for toolmakers Required Skills & Experience Strong hands-on experience with SolidWorks (Sheet Metal mandatory) Experience in forming simulation / SolidWorks Simulation or Plastics Solid understanding of manufacturing processes: stamping, bending, tooling Experience with precision electrical or mechanical components preferred Ability to work with tight tolerances and compact assemblies Excellent attention to detail and documentation quality What We Will Provide Complete MCB cavity dimensions Material preferences Applicable creepage & clearance guidelines Technical support during development Why Join Us Work on real-world, production-critical OEM components Opportunity to directly influence tooling and mass production Long-term collaboration opportunities for the right candidate Be part of a company with 40+ years of manufacturing excellence How to Apply Interested candidates can apply by sharing: Updated resume Portfolio or examples of SolidWorks sheet-metal projects Experience with simulation and production handover
