Based on your bid including budget, time to finish, offer details (description), as well as after reviewing your profile, I will only contact shortlisted bidders. **Title:** Static Faculty Website (Academic Theme) + One Interactive Engineering Example (HTML, Offline) ### **Overview** I am looking for a freelancer to set up a static personal academic website using the **Academic / Wowchemy default theme** (as seen at [https://academic-demo.netlify.app/](https://academic-demo.netlify.app/)), with a specific page structure and **one working interactive example** for a mechanical engineering course. This project is **file-based only**. You will **not deploy**, **not host**, and **not access any of my accounts**. You will deliver a ZIP file containing the complete site and interactive example. The site will initially contain **empty or placeholder content**, except for one interactive example embedded under a course page. --- ### **Website Structure** The site must contain the following top-level pages: * Home * About / Bio * Research * Teaching / Courses * CV / Publications * Students / Lab These pages may contain placeholder text such as “Content coming soon” and do not need to be populated yet. Under **Teaching / Courses**, include one course page (e.g., “Mechanical Systems” or “Example Course”) and embed the interactive example on that page. --- ### **Theme and Technology Requirements** * Use the **Academic / Wowchemy default theme** (Hugo-based or equivalent Academic theme with the same look and structure). * The site must be: * static (no backend), * fully buildable locally, * deployable to GitHub Pages or Netlify later by me. * Deliver the site as a **folder + ZIP archive**, not as a live deployment. --- ### **Interactive Example (1 Only)** You will implement **one** interactive engineering example. **Requirements:** * The example must be implemented as a **self-contained HTML file** (HTML + CSS + JS in one file). * It must: * run locally by double-clicking (no server required), * use sliders for parameters, * update outputs and plots dynamically, * not load any libraries from the web (no CDNs, no external APIs). * The interactive example must be embedded into one course page under Teaching / Courses. I will provide the mathematical model for the example. A ZIP file containing: * the full static website project (Academic theme), * all configuration files, * placeholder pages with the specified structure, * the interactive example file, * embedding of the interactive example into the course page. - A pre-built static website with placeholder (empty) content (no build tools or servers required to view it). - A self-contained interactive HTML file that runs locally (no server, no toolchain, no external libraries). - A short screen-capture video showing the site and the interactive example working (sliders visibly changing outputs). - A temporary hosted demo (on your own account) so I can interact with the site and verify functionality before acceptance. - A brief tutorial explaining how to upload the static site to GitHub Pages. 2. A short screen-capture video (2–6 minutes) showing: * the site running locally, * navigation between pages, * the interactive example working (sliders changing outputs). * how it can be deployed 3. A README file explaining: * how to run/build the site locally, * how I can later deploy it myself, * where the interactive example lives in the folder structure. --- ### **Restrictions** * Do NOT deploy or host the site. * Do NOT request access to any of my accounts. * Do NOT include analytics, trackers, or external scripts. * Do NOT hard-code personal information (use placeholders only). * The temporary hosted demo is for verification only and must be on the developer’s own account; no access to my accounts will be provided. --- ### **Future Work** This initial contract is only for: * setting up the site structure, * and implementing one interactive example. Additional examples may be commissioned later either with you or another freelancer. --- ### **Acceptance Criteria** The project is accepted when: * I can open the site locally and see all pages. * I can navigate to Teaching / Courses and see the interactive example. * The interactive example sliders visibly change numerical/graphical outputs. * No external internet connection is required for the example to work. * It is standard practice for the developer to provide a temporary hosted demo so the client can verify functionality interactively prior to acceptance.
