Am a traveler and have collected a good list of restaurants & favs that I want to get online so people can go search by city / location. As such, I’m getting ready to launch a new travel / food blog & website and need a fully coded template that feels classic and familiar rather than ultra-modern. The layout should echo the look of travel & food —clear typography, balanced white space, a sidebar and map so people can go to it and find favorites in cities around the globe —but still be fluid on mobile, tablet, and desktop. Core features I must have: • A prominent search bar that works across all pages • A threaded comment section styled to match the overall theme • An interactive map with accompanying listings so I can geo-tag posts and let readers browse by location Need to be able to go in and edit it on my own and add / edit content anytime on the fly If you think an extra like a newsletter signup would blend in naturally, feel free to suggest it, but it isn’t essential right now. Please build with clean, semantic HTML5, well-organized SCSS/CSS, and vanilla JavaScript (or a lightweight framework if it speeds things up without bloat). The finished package should drop straight into WordPress or any similar CMS—with separate header, footer, and content templates, plus clear documentation so I can tweak colors, content and fonts later. Acceptance criteria: • Renders consistently on the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge • Passes W3C HTML & CSS validation • Fully responsive down to 320 px width • Map & listings component loads quickly and degrades gracefully if JavaScript is disabled Send over a short note on your approach, a timeline, and one or two links to previous blog templates you’ve built that show you can capture a traditional aesthetic.
