I have a complete WhatsApp backup and I only need the text messages pulled out of it—no photos, videos, voice-notes or contact lists. The goal is a clean Excel workbook where every message is grouped by contact so I can quickly scan each individual conversation. I’m not asking for keyword or date filtering; I want the full history preserved exactly as it appears in the backup. Within each contact’s section or sheet, please include at least these columns: Time-stamp, Message Direction (sent / received), and Message Body. Feel free to add any other fields you routinely capture if they make the data more useful. I don’t mind which tool you use—Python, Excel VBA, Power Query, or a specialised WhatsApp extraction utility—as long as the final deliverable is an .xlsx file that opens without errors and keeps the original character encoding intact (emojis included).
