Project Summary — AI Watch Prototype (Snapdragon W5+ Gen 2) Budget: $2,000–$3,000 Type: One-time contract / short-term project Hardware: Thundercomm Snapdragon W5+ Gen 2 SOM Stage: Early hardware + system architecture (not mass production yet) Project Goal Design and validate a wearable AI watch system architecture using the Snapdragon W5+ Gen 2 SOM, capable of on-device voice AI (speech → LLM → speech) with strict thermal and power constraints suitable for wrist-worn devices. This is not a Raspberry Pi project and not cloud-based AI. Scope of Work (What You Will Do) 1. SOM Integration Planning Review Thundercomm W5+ Gen 2 SOM documentation Define: Power requirements Required PMIC connections Boot configuration Identify minimum external components needed for a wearable design 2. Audio System Design Specify: MEMS microphone configuration (I2S / PDM) Speaker + amplifier solution suitable for a watch Ensure compatibility with: Linux / Android audio stack Low-power voice use 3. Thermal Strategy (Critical) Design for burst AI workloads only Ensure: No continuous high-power operation Heat is spread laterally (bezel/mid-frame) Skin-side thermal isolation Recommend: Temperature sensors Throttling strategy 4. Power & Battery Architecture Battery target: ~1000–1200 mAh Li-ion Define: Charging approach Power rails Low-power idle states Ensure safe wrist temperatures 5. System Block Diagram Produce a clean block diagram covering: SOM Memory Storage Audio Power Sensors User input This diagram will be used for: PCB design Investor discussions Future mass production Out of Scope No full custom SoC design No mass-production PCB No enclosure CAD No app UI No cloud infrastructure This is architecture + feasibility, not manufacturing.
