We are looking for an experienced Drupal Backend + Custom Frontend Developer (Freelance) to lead the re-design and redevelopment of an enterprise-grade real estate website. The project involves a custom Next.js/React frontend integrated with a Drupal CMS backend to support heavy content management, scalable taxonomy, multilingual readiness, and robust governance. This is a high-impact, architecture-driven role, not a basic theming or WordPress-style implementation. Key Responsibilities 1. Frontend Development (Next.js / React.js) Build a high-performance, SEO-friendly frontend using Next.js (SSR + SSG) Implement responsive UI across desktop, tablet, and mobile Develop reusable, scalable UI components aligned with approved design system Optimize performance (Core Web Vitals, image/video optimization) 2. Backend Development (Drupal or Similar CMS) Configure and customize Drupal CMS for enterprise content management Design structured content types, taxonomies, workflows, and role-based access Build secure, scalable APIs for frontend consumption Enable multilingual readiness and content governance 3. Information Architecture & Content Enablement Translate complex information architecture into structured CMS models Support redesign and development of up to 35 pages Ensure clean URL structures, SEO metadata handling, and content flexibility 4. Integrations, Security & Deployment Support Implement secure forms, lead capture, and CRM/email integrations Ensure SSL, secure APIs, and best practices for data protection Support deployment on AWS / Vercel, environment setup, and domain configuration 5. Testing, QA & Go-Live Readiness Cross-browser and device testing Performance and load testing Accessibility best practices (WCAG where applicable) Bug fixing and final production readiness support Required Skills & Experience 5+ years experience in web development with Drupal (8/9/10) Strong expertise in Next.js / React.js (SSR, SSG, headless CMS integration) Experience with headless or decoupled CMS architectures Solid understanding of SEO-friendly frontend development Experience handling large content volumes, complex IA, and workflows Knowledge of cloud deployments (AWS, Vercel, CI/CD basics) Strong grasp of performance optimization and security best practices Nice to Have (High Advantage) Experience in real estate, enterprise, or multi-stakeholder platforms Exposure to MongoDB or scalable data architectures Understanding of conversion optimization, lead funnels, and CTAs
