I’m launching a new Shopify store that will showcase and sell physical products, and the entire customer journey needs to feel classic and elegant from the first click to checkout. The assignment covers both design and technical setup so the shop is fully operational the moment the catalog is uploaded. The first step is selecting the right theme. I don’t have one in mind, so I’ll need a concise shortlist of free themes that naturally lend themselves to a timeless, refined aesthetic. Once we agree on the best option, the next phase is tailoring it—typography, color palette, imagery placement, and subtle animations—so everything aligns with the brand’s understated luxury feel. Beyond visuals, the store must function flawlessly: • Configure navigation, collections, and product pages for straightforward browsing. • Integrate payment gateways, shipping rates, taxes, and basic legal pages. • Optimize for mobile and ensure quick load times. • Recommend and install any essential Shopify apps (reviews, email capture, analytics) that complement a classic brand rather than clutter it. • Provide a quick-reference guide or loom walkthrough so day-to-day updates (adding products, changing banners) are hassle-free. Completed work is considered ready when the storefront is live-ready, no console errors appear, test orders flow end-to-end, and the style remains consistent across devices and browsers. Shopify admin experience, Liquid edits, CSS fine-tuning, and an eye for elegant detail will be vital throughout this build.
