Entertainment Device Concept & Material Specification

I’m moving from idea to concrete plan for a small, consumer-facing electronic entertainment device and I need outside expertise to lock down the product definition and the materials that will make it real. Scope The core concept is fixed—an entertainment gadget meant for everyday consumers—but the detailed requirements, feature hierarchy, and structural design still need sharpening. I want clear specifications that any industrial designer or manufacturer can pick up without guessing. What I need from you • A concise product definition document that translates the high-level idea into measurable specs (size, weight, user interaction, environmental ratings, regulatory considerations). • A justified material selection matrix covering enclosure, internal supports, display cover, buttons/touch areas, and any required sealing or damping solutions. Please weigh factors like durability, cost, finish, recyclability, and supply availability. • Preliminary mechanical layout or reference CAD (solid-model or STEP) that shows part splits and fastening so a tooling engineer can estimate mold complexity. • A short bill of materials for critical components with at least two supplier references for each where possible. Acceptance criteria The documentation should be complete enough for me to request industrial design quotes and initial manufacturing DFM feedback without further clarification. Material recommendations must cite standards or datasheets that support your choice. All files should open in common tools such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or a neutral format (STEP, IGES, PDF). I’m ready to answer detailed questions quickly and will review drafts within 24 hours so we can iterate fast.
