- Project Overview: We are looking for an experienced iOS engineer to fix a 90-degree rotation issue affecting a foot-scanning flow on iPhone 17 devices. The issue appears in the TrueDepth / camera pipeline and must be resolved without impacting behavior on older devices (iPhone 15/16). This is a focused, technical debugging and implementation task, not a full app build. - Goal: Correct the scan orientation on iPhone 17 while preserving existing functionality on previous iPhone models. - Responsibilities: Analyze the TrueDepth capture pipeline and orientation handling across camera, rendering, and detection layers Identify the root cause of the rotation issue specific to iPhone 17 Implement a robust, device-aware orientation fix (no regressions on older devices) Ensure color preview, depth/point cloud, and detection bounding boxes remain aligned Validate the fix on real devices and document the solution - Required Skills: Strong Swift and iOS camera stack experience AVFoundation, AVCaptureSession, AVCaptureConnection TrueDepth and depth data handling (AVCaptureDepthDataOutput) Debugging camera orientation issues, especially front camera behavior Experience applying orientation transforms correctly - Nice to Have: Metal or MetalPerformanceShaders SceneKit or 3D point cloud rendering Vision / CoreML integration Experience with 3D scanning SDKs (e.g., StandardCyborgFusion or similar) - Deliverables: Code changes that fix rotation on iPhone 17 only No regressions on older iPhone models Short technical write-up explaining the root cause and fix Validation notes from testing on iPhone 17 and previous models - Engagement: Contract-based, long-term task Immediate start preferred Clear scope and fast turnaround
