Project Overview I’m building a football facemask with an integrated, low-profile camera system (not a clip-on). I need a mechanical designer who can design the full assembly in CAD and 3D print prototypes for real-world fitment on an actual facemask before finalizing production-ready files. The goal is: validated fit + working physical prototype → then finished CAD package I can take to manufacturing. Scope of Work Phase 1 — Concept + CAD Foundation • Review my references (photos / STL of facemask / rough sketches). • Propose 2–3 concept options for the integrated camera housing + mount method. • Design for low snag / low profile and real football contact environment. Phase 2 — Prototype for Fitment • Produce 3D-printable parts and assemble a prototype for fit testing. • Prototype must confirm: • fit on the facemask geometry • stability / anti-rotation • fastener access • serviceability (open/close, lens window, etc.) Phase 3 — Final CAD Package • After prototype feedback, finalize production-ready CAD + drawings. Deliverables (Required) • Full 3D CAD assembly + individual parts (STEP format required) • STL files (print-ready, correct tolerances) • 2D drawings (PDF) with key dimensions + tolerances / GD&T where needed • Exploded view + basic BOM • At least 2 revision rounds included • All files delivered with full commercial rights (I own the design) (Deliverables listed like this so bidders can price accurately.) Prototype Requirements • You must be able to 3D print and ship the prototype parts (or print locally and provide proof of fitment with photos/video). • Prototype material can be standard (FDM) for fit checks; we’ll iterate as needed. What I Will Provide • Facemask STL / measurements (or I can ship a sample facemask if needed) • Reference photos and placement requirements • Any internal component envelope constraints (camera module + electronics packaging targets) Skills Needed • Mechanical Design / Product Design • SolidWorks or Fusion 360 (or similar) • 3D printing + prototype iteration • Experience with mounts, enclosures, impact-resistant parts is a big plus To Apply (Please Include) 1. Examples of similar mechanical CAD work (mounts, enclosures, wearables, sports gear, etc.) 2. Your CAD software 3. Confirmation you can deliver STEP + STL + 2D drawings + BOM + exploded view 4. Whether you can 3D print + ship the prototype 5. Your suggested timeline + fixed price (or milestone breakdown)
