Help me create a pitch or an outline for this app. The purpose of the app is take my scenario, I’m a single mom with no connections and I need someone to just come and help me do things around the house- move heavy stuff etc. I want local craftsman to be able to register as service providers, but I need the app to have a verification process in place - safety is a priority. Another example, I am on a local area WhatsApp group, and the telephone number for a Washing machine repair guy has been asked for and shared over 50 times. I want to consolidate this in a single place. I want to have an option to register as a service provider or register as a customer. What I want out of it is a review service, like uber, and the higher the review the higher your listing becomes. There will be no paid services. No sponsored services. I would like to charge a very low monthly subscription to allow artisans and “low income” workers to be able to offer their services. Sign up must be straightforward, I will design the wording of the website to reinforce safety and security for users. The next phase will be location sharing, that’s where fees will apply for the business or service provider. So if my local doctor is having a Botox special and I drive past her practice I will get a push notification (if enabled ) of the special. I want users to be able to select the services they are interested in, and make sure the app is user friendly for people of all ages. Services must be able to be drilled down to exactly what the user is looking for. Landing page must be simple. Payment: payment for services must go through the app sort of based on the Yaga.co.za system. Payment after service. This keeps the provider and client in the app, and doesn’t take the business “offline” Answer: 1. The Problem (Your lived scenario) Today, finding help shouldn’t depend on who you know — but it does. I’m a single mom. I don’t have a handyman, mover, or “guy who knows a guy.” I just need someone reliable to help move heavy items or fix something small — safely. Right now: • Help is found through WhatsApp groups, word of mouth, or repeated phone numbers • The same service provider details get shared dozens of times • There’s no central place, no verification, and no accountability • Safety is a real concern — especially for women, elderly users, and families ⸻ 2. The Solution A single, trusted platform that connects people to verified local service providers. This app allows: • Customers to find help nearby, quickly and safely • Local artisans and labourers to offer their services in one place • Communities to stop relying on endless WhatsApp forwards Think: Uber-style trust, but for everyday help. The Principle: Payment After Service, With Protection Just like Yaga, money is held safely by the platform until the job is done. This protects both sides: Customers don’t risk paying someone who doesn’t arrive or does poor work Service providers know the money is secured and guaranteed once the job is completed How It Works (Very Simple Flow) Customer requests a service Selects the provider Confirms the job details (task, time, price) Customer pays into the app Payment is made before the job Money is held securely by the platform (escrow) • Provider is notified: “Job confirmed – payment secured” Job is completed Customer confirms: “Job done” Or the system auto-confirms after a set time window Payment is released Money is paid out to the provider Review prompt appears for both parties No cash. No EFT chasing. No awkwardness. Core Features (Phase 1 – Launch Version) Safety & Trust (Non-negotiable) • Verification process for providers • ID upload • Profile photo • Admin approval • Clear safety-focused language throughout the app • Providers are clearly marked as Verified Two Simple Sign-Ups • Register as a Customer • Register as a Service Provider No complicated onboarding. No technical barriers. ⸻ Review-Based Ranking (Not Paid Ads) • Review system similar to Uber • Higher ratings = higher visibility • No sponsored listings • No paid placement • Quality and reliability drive success — not money This keeps the platform fair and community-driven. ⸻ Affordable Provider Model • Very low monthly subscription for service providers • Designed to be accessible for: • Artisans • Informal workers • Low-income earners • No per-job commission in the beginning • No exploitation of labour
