Student News Website Development

I need a news website designed for students at an international school in China. The premise would that a teacher will share the website with students and discuss some of the different news stories with students - the students will choose the stories they find interesting then discuss them as a class with the teacher guiding the discussion. The site should summarize weekly news stories in infographic format. It doesn't need to strictly be an infographic, but it should minimise text to grab attention before guiding them to the deeper news story. The news feeds should update daily. There should be a variety of news stories to choose from with a focus on world events so our students can become more knowledgable about what is happening in the world. It should also contain news stories about pop culture and major sporting events, plus smaller interest stories. The majority of students will go to university in America, so a bias towards American news is fine, but BBC world news would also be a good source. There can be links to external sites such as CNN 10 for an easy video watching session if the teacher is tired and doesn't want a huge discussion! There should also be the ability for students to comment on news stories and respond to other comments. The news summaries will be used by teachers to generate discussions. The news feeds should update daily. It should also contain news stories about pop culture and major sporting events, plus smaller interest stories. There should be a page where students can upload photos they have taken and post information about the pictures. This would help create a photo record of the year which can be used to create a yearbook. Some local stories about China would also be very helpful, but these must be screenable due to sensitive content. The homepage should include a group picture of the yeargroup to denote it is specifically for one year group (not whole school). Each new academic year, the website will be updated with a new year group so all comments should be deleted and new school student images used, but the news feeds would remain the same. Requirements: - Summaries on local, international, and school news Ideal Skills & Experience: - Web design and development - Proficiency in creating engaging infographics - Experience with news content curation - Ability to meet tight deadlines Please ensure the project is completed within a month.
