The pudukkotai archeological forum has conifrmed that a stone sculpture found near the Periyakanmai irrigation tank in Avudaiyarkovil Pudukottai district, belongs to the buddha tradition and date back to thr 10th century CE.The finding was established by A Manikandan, founderbof the pudukkotai Archeological resarch Forum after a detailed study of the statue that was first discovered 2018. Carved form black stone, the sculpture measure 48 cm in height and 38cm in width.
