Ergonomic Workspace Furniture Design

I’m developing a line of custom workspace furniture focused on employee well-being and efficient use of floor space. The pieces will be built primarily from precision-bent sheet metal with complementary timber or composite accents, so strong sheet-metal modelling skills are essential. The overall look must stay ergonomic and functional; I need height-adjustable stations that encourage healthy posture throughout the day. Beyond the core requirement of smooth, reliable adjustability, I want the frame geometry optimised for strength and minimal material waste. If you can also weave in neat touches such as hidden cable runs or optional lumbar accessories, that’s a bonus. You’ll receive basic sketches, target dimensions, and load specifications. From there I’ll need: • Production-ready 3D CAD models (SolidWorks or similar) • Flat patterns and DXF files for laser cutting • Exploded assembly drawings with BOM • Photorealistic renders for marketing visuals All files should be suitable for a medium-volume sheet-metal fabricator to pick up without further re-work. Once the first prototype passes fit and finish checks, we can iterate on additional configurations—single-user desks, collaborative pods, and storage units—so long-term collaboration is possible. If you have a proven track record in adjustable office furniture and can demonstrate efficient sheet-metal design, I’d love to see recent examples and hear how you would tackle this project.
