Overview: You must be an expert and understand what I need. I have a 4 color 3D print model (flower pattern on a base). When sliced, it produces 59 filament changes, which is too many. I need a skilled 3D printed product designer who understands multi-color FDM workflows (inlay / color segmentation / top-surface coloring) to modify the model so it prints with 10 or fewer filament changes while keeping the same visual result. Current problems to solve: 1. Too many filament changes (59) The slicer is detecting too many separate colored regions across multiple layers. The flower “top” color should be limited to one single layer on a shared plane. 2. Gaps between flowers / base showing The flowers need to be positioned/expanded so that they are tight with no base gaps visible between them (continuous coverage). See example images. Technical requirements (important): • All flower “top surfaces” must be placed on one common Z height so they print as one layer of color. • Consolidate/merge regions so each color prints in as few layer swaps as possible, targeting ≤10 filament changes total. • Maintain minimum feature widths suitable for typical FDM (I will provide nozzle size/layer height; design must respect that). • Ensure the final file is watertight/manifold with clean boundaries between color regions. Some borders might need strengthening. • Ensure it can print as fast as possible with no defects and few supports. • Avoid tiny islands / micro-segments that trigger extra swaps. • You will need to get and test my product on the Elegoo Centauri Carbon Slicer, it is a free download. I want filament spool #1 to be the main color. Deliverables: • Updated STL (and STEP/source file if you modify in CAD) • Optional: 3MF with parts separated by color (if that’s the cleanest workflow) • Notes on recommended slicer settings to keep swaps low • Screenshots showing filament change count reduced (59 → ≤10) Proof of skill requested: • Please share examples of multi-color/inlay work you’ve done (Bambu/Prusa/MMU/AMS style workflows are fine). • Tell me what software you’ll use (Fusion 360, Blender, SolidWorks, etc.) and how you will ensure the slicer doesn’t generate extra swaps. What I will provide on kickoff: • Current model file(s) • Slicer screenshot showing 59 changes on the main part, and I need the other three parts fixed to reduce the filament changes and speed to print. • Target printer/slicer, nozzle size, layer height, and desired final color count (10) Success = When I slice your final file using my slicer settings, it shows ≤10 filament changes, the flower tops print as a single layer of color, and no base gaps appear between flowers. Everything must be 100% unique and original. No copying others work.
