Spreadsheets can’t keep pace with thousands of SKUs, vendor price breaks and back-order juggling, so I need a single piece of software to run the operation end-to-end. Core needs • Inventory management — live on-hand counts, multi-location support, low-stock alerts and automatic back-order logging. • Order processing — enter, edit and track sales orders through picking, shipping and invoicing, with line-item or customer-group discounts plus correct state and federal taxes. • Vendor management — store vendor-specific costs, lead times and terms, then generate purchase orders or drop-ship requests in a click. • Invoicing — PDF invoices, bulk emailing, credit-note handling and accurate tax reporting.
