We have configured a Raspberry Pi-based wireless Access Point (AP) with Hotspot 2.0 (HS2.0) and Online Sign-Up (OSU) support, integrated with a RADIUS backend for authentication and accounting. While the network broadcasts correctly under the SSID Shop_Welcome_OSU, and OSU parameters are visible to capable devices, new devices do not receive an automatic notification or onboarding prompt when entering proximity. Goal: Enable a seamless, app-free, zero-touch discovery and signup experience where capable devices automatically receive a notification or welcome message with the Wi-Fi name upon entering a limited distance—similar to deployments in airports, hospitals, and malls. Deliverables: - Updated configurations for `hostapd`, `dnsmasq`, and RADIUS that enable automatic onboarding notifications. - Validation of ANQP responses, OSU server interactions, and proper advertisement of vendor-specific IE fields. - A short write-up explaining changes made for reproducibility. - A test script or command sequence to verify end-to-end provisioning success. Ideal Skills & Experience: - Expertise in HS2.0/ANQP/OSU configurations. - Strong knowledge of RADIUS authentication/accounting. - Experience with Raspberry Pi-based access points and Linux networking tools. - Familiarity with seamless Wi-Fi onboarding solutions.
